How It Works
Tuka uses Apple's on-device speech recognition to transcribe your recordings. No audio leaves your Mac — everything is processed locally on the Neural Engine.
Generate Captions
Open your recording in the editor.
Click the Captions button in the toolbar.
Select your language and click Generate.
Wait for transcription to complete. This usually takes a few seconds.
Edit Captions
After generation, you can:
- Edit text — click any caption to fix wording or typos
- Adjust timing — drag caption boundaries on the timeline
- Change style — modify font, size, color, and position
Export Captions
Captions can be exported as:
- Burned in — rendered directly into the video

Auto captions support multiple languages. The transcription model is downloaded on first use and works offline after that.
