Basic Editing

Learn the fundamentals of editing your recordings in Tuka.

The Editor

After recording, Tuka opens the built-in editor. Here you can trim, cut, add effects, and export — all without leaving the app.

Timeline

The timeline at the bottom shows your full recording. You can:

  • Scrub — click and drag on the timeline to move the playhead
  • Zoom — pinch or use ⌘ + / ⌘ - to zoom the timeline
  • Play/Pause — press Space to toggle playback

Basic Operations

Trim

Drag the start or end handles of the timeline to trim your recording. This removes content from the beginning or end.

Cut

Select a section of the timeline and press Delete to remove it. The remaining clips join together automatically.

Split

Position the playhead where you want to split, then press ⌘ + B. This creates two separate clips you can rearrange or delete independently.

💡

Use ⌘ + Z to undo any edit. Tuka keeps your original recording intact — edits are non-destructive.
