Export GIF

Create animated GIFs from your recordings for quick sharing.

When to Use GIF

GIFs are perfect for:

  • Quick demos in GitHub issues and pull requests
  • Slack and chat messages
  • Documentation and tutorials
  • Social media posts

Export as GIF

  1. Click Export in the editor toolbar or press ⌘ + E.

  2. Select GIF as the format.

  3. Choose dimensions: original, 720p, 480p, or custom.

  4. Set the frame rate (10–30 fps). Lower fps means smaller files.

  5. Click Export and choose a save location.

Optimizing File Size

GIFs can get large. To keep them small:

  • Trim your recording to only the essential part
  • Lower the frame rate — 15 fps is usually smooth enough
  • Reduce dimensions — 480p works well for most contexts
  • Shorter is better — aim for under 10 seconds
